Gargoyle Geckos 101 - what’s a gecko?
Gargoyle gecko rhacodactylus auriculatus are medium sized friendly lizards that are great to keep as pets.
They do well in human interaction similar to hamsters/rats/rabbits, or left alone in their enclosure being a conversation piece of your living room similar to a fish tank.
Easy to take care of, live 8+ years, very healthy and hardy - with good care adult health issues are exceptionally rare
Close relatives of crested geckos, chahoua geckos and leachianus geckos - all from rhacodactylus family (sometimes referred to as rhacs) but arguably gargoyles are the brightest and the prettiest ones with most variability
Easy care means cheap minimum habitat costs, low risk of health issues, and easy maintenance
Relatively smart compared to other reptiles, once comfortable in their environment they are curious and eager to interact with it
Harmless - when scared they try to escape rather than show aggression, but in rare cases they do they can barely pierce human skin
